In a strange bit of synchronicity, another Superman-themed piece of mine has just been reprinted in Fantasy Magazine, where you can read it for free. It originally appeared in Talking Back: Epistolary Fantasies, edited by L. Timmel DuChamp (Aqueduct Press, 2006).

I should probably mention that I am co-writing a series of episode reviews and commentary on episodes of Star Trek: The Original Series over at Tor.com. We're working our way through all 79 episodes from the first to the last, the good and the bad. Please check out our reviews, watch along with us, and let us know what you think!

I somehow neglected to share my big news here after posting it on my blog, but since SFScope recently mentioned it, I thought I should update my website too.

So a bit belatedly, I'm very pleased to announce that I am now represented by Eddie Schneider at the JABberwocky Literary Agency!

I received an Honorable Mention in the Year's Best Fantasy and Horror 2008 (ed. Kelly Link, Gavin Grant, & Ellen Datlow) for my story "In the Closet" in Loving the Undead, an Anthology of Romance, sort of... (ed. Katherine Sanger, From the Asylum Books and Press, Jan 2007).

My story "She Has a Nice Personality" is now online in Issue 6 of the Farrago's Wainscot Exhibition.

It's been a while since my last update here, but I have two pieces of news:

My first review, for "Perpetual Check" in Sporty Spec: Games of the Fantastic, is online at The Fix:
"Myers has made every word count in this piece, saying as much through words omitted as through those committed to paper, and producing a piece that is worth reading more than once."

My story "If I Die Before I Wake" appears in issue #32 of the Australian magazine Andromeda Spaceways Inflight Magazine, which is now available through mail order and in downloadable PDF format from www.andromedaspaceways.com.

Two of my stories reached print recently: "Fortune Favors the Bold" in Touched By Wonder: A Symphony of Fantastic Tales (ed. Jackie Gamber) from Meadowhawk Press and "Perpetual Check", a flash story in Raven Electrick Ink's Sporty Spec: Games of the Fantastic (ed. Karen A. Romanko).

You can purchase Touched By Wonder directly from Meadowhawk Press though I think they will have wider distribution soon; a portion of proceeds will also be donated to Breast Cancer Research and Awareness.

A father discovers the impossible cause of his daughter’s fears. A breast cancer victim gambles desperately on a cure. A homeless waif walks distorted city streets overrun by monsters…or does she?
This collection of stories by authors from around the globe brings people, just like you and me, into the path of the extraordinary. Whether in the world as we know it, or in a futuristic or fantastical world all its own, each tale reminds us there may never be an end to the unexplained.
Nor should there be.

Sporty Spec is now available for purchase at Lulu. It will soon be available at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, etc.

Sporty Spec: Games of the Fantastic views sports and games with a speculative twist, in prophesied futures, parallel presents, and imagined pasts. From tennis matches with Death to chess games with Oberon, from free throws with the Fairy Court to surfing with werewolves, every sport imaginable (and a few unimaginable) exist within this speculative city of games. 42 authors, veterans and rookies alike, have contributed flash fiction and poetry that will take you from pong with a dust mote at the beginning of the world to sailboarding through the stars at the universe's edge.
